kimcrizaldo

In the spotlight for our continuing coverage of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates is 24 year old Kim Crizaldo who is representing the Iloilo Province to the inaugural competition. Kim works as a flight attendant of Philippine Airlines and is currently taking her MBA degree in Ateneo.

What does she do during this Community Quarantine?

Kim keeps herself busy by reading books, do home workouts, check current news. She also has a donation drive, as she started to raise money for the making of PPEs through Piso Para sa Iloilo Project.

The Piso Para sa Iloilo Project was an initiative of Kim that aims to raise funds for frontliners. As of this writing, they have donated around 21,000pcs of face masks and 1500pcs of hazmat suits to our frontliners not just in the province of Iloilo, but also in Manila and Guimaras. Towards her Miss Universe Philippines journey she advocates for Public Health and Sanitation – “During these times, we’ve seen how important it is to know how to take good care of ourselves and be hygienic. Other than that, we’ve also seen how important our health care system is and that is something that we should further improve. My advocacy also includes giving potable water, toiler for every household and implementing more environmental activities in the hopes of living in a healthy environment.”

She also volunteered to help at the synchronized  clean up “Limpio Iloilo “ project of Iloilo Governor Toto Defensor – one of the ways to effectively demonstrate her advocacy. She has also donated face masks – an essential to the new normal that we have today – at the end of the day, we cannot return to our “normal” lives but we can always put positivity towards living the life we have now which is what Kim is trying to show us.

Indeed, Kim has the makings of an empowered and phenomenal woman – can she go all the way and take the representation of Iloilo Province to a bigger stage?
