A first in Philippine Male Pageantry, the candidates of Misters of Filipinas 2016 were grouped into three for a short film challenge – this is a welcome break from the usual pageant challenges as they get to write and star their own films whether be it drama, horror or action.
The three films were viewed by the Misters of Filipinas contestants in the Short Film Premiere Night held last Thursday, September 15 at the U-View Fully Booked at BGC. At the end of the premiere night, three awards were handed out.
Best Actor award was given to Prince De Guzman (Fairview, QC) for his portrayal of psychotic drug lord, The Best Screenplay plum went to Obscura, the horror flick of the first group of candidates. Capping off the awards was Best Film won by “The Scoop”–an action flick on drug trade.
One more award will given away on the Finals Night on September 18 – Mr. Telegenic at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.
